On Friday, May 13, 2011, an 11th generation exponent of Gurbani Kirtan, Bhai Gurcharan Singh (97), taught in the first ever workshop at the Anād Conservatory, Qila Sultanpur Lodhi, Kapurthala. This was a historic opportunity for the students to be with the maestro who has co-authored the seminal two volumes on the subject, Gurbani Sangeet: Pracheen Reet Ratnavali (first published in 1979 by Punjabi University, Patiala).
