Pandit Ram Kumar Mallick represents the twelfth generation of the Darbhanga Gharāna of Dhrupad. His training began at an early age under the guidance of his father, Pt. Vidur Mallick, and he has also had the good fortune of studying under his grandfather, Late Pt. Sukhdev Mallick.               

Pandit Ji’s recital is noted for the rich repertory of compositions he presents, his conversancy with the Khāndarvāni & Gaurharvāni idioms, and the variety of layakarīs & tihayīs that he adeptly deploys. Pandit Ram Kumar Mallick is an A Grade Artist of All India Radio and TV, whose Dhrupad recitals are broadcast regularly.
