Pt. Jagat Narain Pathak, born in 1960, is the son of esteemed Dhrupad exponent, the late Shri Narhari Pathak. He inherited the legacy and started his training as a 5 year old child. He has been a disciple of skillful teachers such as Yudhvir Mallick and accomplished vocalist of Darbhanga Dhrupad Gharāna, Padmashri Pt. Siya Ram Tiwari. The rigorous and expert training of his childhood helped him to carry forward the legacy of late Shri Nar Singh Mallick and Shri Ksishtipal Mallick. At the young age of 13, he had his first solo performance at Akhil Bhartiya Sangeet Sammelan at Motihari and since then there has been no looking back.
