Poet Jaswant Singh Zafar

Jaswant Zafar (51), is an acclaimed Punjabi writer, poet, and visual artist.

Do Sāhān Vichkār, Asi Guru Nanak De Ki Lagde Hān, Sikhu So Khoji Lahai, and Eh Banda ki Hunda are among Zafar’s many poetic publications. Several of his writings have been translated into English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu and various other languages. untitled-109 EditHe has been conferred several awards including the Inter-University Shiv Kumar Batalvi Poet Gold Medal (1988), Punjab University, Chandigarh, Uday Bharti Rashtriya Kavita Puraskar (1993), Varnmala, Bhubaneshwar, Sant Namdev Vishesh Sammaan by Marathi writers (2016), World English Literature Convention, and Colonel Narain Singh Bhattal poetry award (2015), Kalakar Sahittak.

Jaswant Singh Zafar has had a multi-faceted career. He has conducted several poetry recitals and interviews for various TV and Radio channels. Also a cartoonist, he drew for Punjabi newspapers and held a cartoon exhibition in Ludhiana. Zafar has served as Secretary, both at Punjabi Sahit Academy, Chandigarh and Punjabi Sahit Academy, Ludhiana.
